Oscar Seagle Memorial Theatre – June 27, 7:30 pm Our traditional opening concert will feature songs and arias from all 32 of our 2020 Emerging Artists, and will be followed by a reception where audience members can meet and greet the singers. Get your tickets early; this concert is always a sellout!
Mainstage Season at the Oscar Seagle Memorial Theatre
By Johann Strauss Jr. – July 8, 9, 11 at 7:30 pm, July 10 at 2 pm Opening the 2020 mainstage season is this classic operetta by the famous waltz-king Johann Strauss Jr. Full of joyful, memorable, and famous tunes, this comic show is sure to please. Join the 2020 singers at Prince Orlovsky’s Viennese Ball and help Darren Woods and Tony Kostecki (SMC Artistic and General Directors) celebrate their 25th anniversary at Seagle with a special guest star each night!

By Jules Massenet – July 22, 23, 25 at 7:30 pm, July 24 at 2 pm Based on Perrault’s vesion of the classic tale, Massenet’s Cinderella most closely follows the fairy-tale story as many of us know it through the magic of Walt Disney. But, this opera takes it up a level with incredibly beautiful and romantic music to complement the lavish sets and costumes required to tell the story well.

Harmony – a world premiere opera
By Russell Banks & Robert Carl – August 5, 6, 8 at 7:30 pm, August 7 at 2 pm Seagle Music Colony is thrilled to present the WORLD PREMIERE of celebrated novelist Russell Banks and composer Robert Carl’s new opera. Set in Keene, NY, this opera follows the meeting of a young Charles Ives and an older Mark Twain by way of their connection to the Twitchell family, longtime Adirondack summer residents. Based on actual events, this once-in-a-lifetime world premiere event will be a highlight of the Seagle 2020 season.

By Jerry Herman – August 19, 20, 22 at 7:30 PM, August 21, 22 at 2 PM One of the most endearing Broadway hits of all time makes a comeback to Schroon Lake. With hit tunes like “I Put My Hand In”, “Ribbons Down My Back”, “Before the Parade Passes By”, and the title “Hello, Dolly!”, you’ll leave the theater humming for days. The show is sure to be a sell-out, so get your tickets early.

Children’s Opera – July 11 at 10:00 and 11:30 am – Boathouse Theater
Music and Libretto by Jonathan Stinson
This modern take on the classic fairy-tale is sure to please young and old. In this version of the story, Goldilocks is a homeless orphan and is just looking for a place to fit in. Can the bear family make room for her in their home and their hearts? You’ll have to watch and find out.

Other Performances and Events
Seagle Music Colony Gala – July 18, 6 pm The Seagle Music Colony Gala is our largest annual fund-raising event. Its goal is to raise substantial funds to support the emerging artist program of Seagle Music Colony. The Gala is a full evening including an elegant dinner, drinks, dessert and dancing, as well as entertainment by the Seagle Music Colony Emerging Artists. Each year’s Gala honors one outstanding Seagle Music Colony Alumnus/a as well as at least one of our valued long-time supporters.
Guild Scholarship Luncheon – August 5, 11 am – The Sagamore Resort, Bolton Landing, NY This annual luncheon is the largest fund-raising event for the Seagle Music Colony Guild Scholarship Fund and is a highlight of the summer social season in the North Country. Highlights include an elegant luncheon with stunning views of Lake George, a basket-raffle, and entertainment by the Seagle Music Colony emerging artists.
Vespers Concerts – August 116, 23, 5 pm – Oscar Seagle Memorial Theatre Our concerts of sacred choral music and vocal solos have been a Schroon Lake tradition for most of our 100 year history. All Vespers concerts are open to the public and seating is first-come, first-serve, so arrive early to find your preferred seat.

There’s No Business Like Show Business
A Revue of the Music of Irving Berlin – This charming revue will feature the 2020 Seagle Music Colony Fall-Season artists singing songs by American composer Irving Berlin. A sampling of the favorites to be included are ““Always”, “A Pretty Girl is Like A Melody”, “Anything You Can Do, I Can do Better”, “God Bless America”, “Sisters” and many more.
