Now there’s no doubt that the Adirondacks are beautiful during our summer season months (June-August). But have you seen them covered in a blanket of snow? We’re definitely Dreaming of a White Christmas up here, and the only thing missing is hearing the voices of our lovely artists ringing through the woods (well, I’m also out of eggnog but that’s a different story). Speaking of the Holiday season, don’t forget to check out our SMC Store for gifts right here on our site! One of our favorite parts (well, let’s be honest, we hate goodbyes, so our only favorite part) about our Emerging Artists spreading their wings and flying beyond The Hill, is that we get to see all of the wonderful places they land! Many of you probably already follow them on Social Media sites, or keep in touch with them via email, but we wanted to make sure no one missed out on what some of our alumni are up to this Holiday Season. With all of that being said, we’ve compiled a list of Who is Where and When for those alumni that we know of. Of course, it’s not even close to ALL of our alumni, but it’s difficult to keep Helicopter-Mom-Tabs on alumni from 101 years, okay?? So for those we’ve missed, please comment below so we can know what’s up! 🙂

So while there currently isn’t music of Sondheim and Rossini echoing across campus, we figured some good ole’ fashioned construction would suffice!
As some of you may already know, we are very excited about our newest addition to housing here on the hill. I know what you’re thinking: “Oh, but I loved Chipmunk so much, it had such nice old and woodsy charm!” Chipmunk was the name of a beloved faculty cabin we recently had to say goodbye to because it…well… had some structural issues to say the least. But it served us many great years and fantastic memories. And yes, we are all sad to say goodbye to Chipmunk as well. [Read more…]
